Almond Jello Puzzle

I got Joshua some color dominoes, which he loves to play with. He likes to make "puzzles" where he assembles them carefully into a large block--very colorful. He tries to match the colors together. He calls them "almond jello" because I got the dominoes for him the same time I introduced him to almond jello--and they're both white.

I walked my legs off today carrying him via subway to the Children's Museum, all around the museum, and then to the train station, and then from Kendall back to our home. Annette asks why I don't use the stroller, and I say that it's because Joshua still likes to be held, and I like to hold him. I know there will soon come a day that he won't want to be held, might want to just run away from us, and play with his friends instead--so until that day comes, and as long as I physically can support him in my arms, I'm going to enjoy every moment I can hold him as he hugs my neck, buries his face in my shoulder when he feels tired or cold, and tells me about everything that he is looking at.

At the museum today, he pretended to be a cashier at their play supermarket. An older boy brought Joshua a basket of groceries, and Joshua diligently scanned every item on the cash register, while also making the "dee" sound effect. Afterwards, he charged the boy "four dollars" for the purchases, and ran after the boy to give him something he forgot at the cash register, "You forgot your banana!" It's hilarious watching our son practicing to be supermarket cashier.

He also pretends to be a doctor as well, listening to his stethoscope and giving us shots. He also likes to pretend to be a drummer, wearing ear phones.

We walked over the harbor going to the Museum, and he asked me, "You remember riding the Swan Boats?"

We saw a bunch of trains at South Station, and when I told him that one was leaving for New York, he said, "I left my big backhoe in New York" That was 5 months ago!

We had a big dinner at the dorm last nite, and I was surprised to hear Joshua pointing to guests and saying their names. He actually knows the names of more people in the dorm than Annette.
