Abacus?

Joshua's Chinese math homework yesterday was to do some simple multiplication questions, but on the abacus?  There's probably some pedagogical reason for using it, but seemed very retro.

Master Lego Builder

Joshua has some work to do in the area of Language Arts, but he definitely has this lego building down.  This morning, he created from scratch both a Republic Gunship and a Podracer.

I don't like surprises

Joshua told Annette's friend that mommy was going to Beijing tomorrow to find a home for us to live in. And she was going to bring back the address, and that was important because he didn't like surprises.

Joshua wanted to go to the gym and workout with me this morning.

Leaving MLK

When we told Joshua last night that we would be leaving Cambridge and moving, he started to sob, saying that he loved MLK and didn't want to leave his school.  Very touching that he has developed such loyalty to his friends and school.

Enjoying the good life...

As soon as we arrived, the boys were awestruck at the amazing greens and blues of the waters.  It was a nice view from the dining room.

Joshua's main delight of the week was ordering Shirley Temples and this smoothie in a pineapple from the bar.

Paper Airplane Contest

One of Joshua's favorite past times these days, in addition to working on his Lego Star Wars creations, is to make paper airplanes. Here, he competes in our dorm paper airplane contest.
